Our Weed Control programs involve both preemergent and postemergent applications to prevent spring weed emergence and in the summer to control pervasive weeds.
Spring preemergent is applied to the lawn in the early part of the year in the months of January and February. The purpose of this application is to kill any broadleaf weeds that may currently be growing while also preventing weeds from being able to germinate in the spring. This application will also target surface insects such as ants and mole crickets.
Winter preemergent is applied to the lawn in the mid part of September. The purpose of this application is to kill any broadleaf weeds that may currently be growing while also preventing weeds from being able to germinate in the spring. Control. May is usually the best time of the year to control Bahia grass because of the temperature is mild.
Contact treatments are made at peak germination periods of broadleaf weeds. The control product must contact leaf surface of the plant to be effective.
